God as Healer
I know a lot of people right now that need physical healing. There are many broken hearts that need healing too. I am thankful for a God who sent Jesus and the Holy Spirit to comfort us. I love reading Galatians 5:22 which is the fruit of the spirit. LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS AND SELF CONTROL.
One time a Christian friend told me that they would regularly go through these fruits to examine their life when things were not going so well. Was there something there they needed to pray about. I think God's peace is about the best thing next to salvation, no matter the circumstance in your life.
God reminds us that these are gifts of the Spirit, given freely. We have not because we ask not. Ask God for these gifts and to heal any need you have, whether it be physical or spiritual.
God Bless you. Carol

Indeed, the healing that Christ can provide is amazing. Recently at church we considered the message of Isaiah 53, written 700 years before the birth of Christ, and yet explaining in a wonderful way how Christ would be the answer to mankind's greatest need- forgiveness and relationship with God. Of interest to this post is where Isaiah proclaims about the coming Messiah, "...by His stripes we are healed." It seems clear, to me, the context of the entire chapter is about healing of our hearts, healing of sin's sickness. I continue to know many fine and godly people who suffer physical challenges- not because they lack faith, but because such is part of the human condition in this world. People get sick and people die- it is part of the imperfect human condition brought on by original sin. Healing- to find forgiveness, love, relationship, transformation- such I believe to be the greatest miracle. I do not discount the miracle of physical healing, but neither do I presume it. And I am glad He is our Healer.
